Professional
Safari Guide

Profile
Peter's
paternal Grandfather (French) relinquished his title of Count for
an English wife and a life in England. Their only son Dennis came
to Kenya in 1944, with the Royal Artillery (“Gunners,” as he would
proudly say) and later became a respected member of the Advertising
fraternity both in Kenya and South Africa.
His
maternal Grandfather (Scottish) traveled by ox wagon from Mombasa
to Nairobi in 1917, in order to claim his ‘Soldier/ settler' Farm,
on the foothills of Mount Kenya and Aberdare Mountain. Diana, Peters'
mother, lived and grew up at Ngobit Farm.
Peter
was born in Nairobi, Kenya. After completing his education in England
where he studied for ‘O' levels and went on to obtained credits
in the Hotel Industry and commercial Catering.
He
has dedicated his life to the Safari industry, managing and running
Game lodges, luxury-tented camps and camping adventures throughout
East Africa. He is renowned for his deep knowledge and bounty
of bush skills of East African culture, fauna, flora, ornithology,
history and his close relationship with the Samburu community.
His
legendary campfire wit and his strong personal interest and charm
in dealing with people, from all walks of life, enhance his capability
as a Professional Safari Guide.
But,
beware, as not all tales he tells are as tall as they may seem!
Peter
and his wife, Alison are proud to share their knowledge and way
of life with their two children, Chala and Torsten, often joining
Peter on his Safaris at the request of his guests.
