KARANJA

David was born on 07th
November 1976 in Nakuru, near the Mau Forest, famous for the source
of the Mara River. He is a Kikuyu by tribe, the biggest ethnic group
in Kenya. He is a christian by religion and is married with two
children.
He attended Egerton Primary
School from 1983 to 1991, then St. Xaviers High School from 1992
to 1995. Having always been interested in wildlife, he joined Wildlife
Clubs of Kenya whilst in school to learn about wildlife conservation
since he lived near the Mau Forest and Lake Nakuru National Park.
After finishing his education
David joined D.T. Dobie Mercedes Benz Technical Training College
from 1998 to 2000 after which he started working with Sunworld Safaris
in 2001 as a workshop technician. Working in a safari company revitalized
his wildlife interest which he had since childhood. In 2002, he
started learning how to guide clients and in November 2003 he attained
the bronze level, certified by the Kenya Professional Safari Guides
Association (KPSGA) and went on further to attain the silver level
in November 2006.
Being a member of Nature
Kenya he has learnt a lot about birds, guiding and importance of
conservation. His regular participation in refresher courses organized
by the Kenya Utalii College has significantly improved his knowledge
of Wildlife and Guiding. Apart from being fluent in English language,
he has also started learning the German language and would be pleased
to try his knowledge with their German speaking clients.
David's hobbies include
travelling, bird watching, meeting new people from all over the
world and enjoying every bit of his safaris! He looks forward to
taking you on safari!
